About Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU):
Sylhet Agricultural University is a public agricultural university in Bangladesh. It is also called SAU in short form. It was established in 1995 as Sylhet Government Veterinary College (SGVC). But in 2006, it was officially called Sylhet Agricultural University.

The Agricultural University has 6 faculties, 47 departments, and research laboratories including field research center. There is also a veterinary teaching hospital.

Whole 2000 students are studying there. Total 203 academic staffs & 195 administrative staffs are working together there.

The former Sylhet Government Veterinary College Library has been established as a library of the university. The work of the university’s new library building is in the final phase, which will be started shortly after opening with the modern library.

As a mark of respect for language martyrs and heroic martyrs of independence, this university campus has been built in the eyes of the Central Shaheed Minar. This Shaheed Minar is one of the most beautiful Shaheed Minar of Bangladesh.
