🔄 Changes from Previous BCS in Preliminary Exam Mark Distribution

There are some modifications in the mark distribution for the preliminary (MCQ) exam compared to previous BCS:

• Bangla Language & Literature: reduced from 35 to 30 marks.

• English Language & Literature: reduced from 35 to 30 marks.

• Bangladesh Affairs: reduced by 5 marks.

• International Affairs: increased by 5 marks.

• Mathematical Reasoning: increased by 5 marks.

• Ethics, Values & Good Governance: increased by 5 marks.

Other subjects (e.g. General Science, Computer & IT, Mental Ability, Geography/Environment/Disaster Management) remain unchanged in marks.

On 9^th May (Thursday) 2026, Bangladesh Public Service Commission has been published 50^th BCS MCQ Result 2026. Though a lot of candidates were participated 50^th BCS Preliminary Test 2026, so BPSC need some time to examine it. It is very natural to publish such a big result within 1 or 2 months. 50^th BCS Preliminary Exam 2026

On 30^th January (Friday) 2026 at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 50^th BCS Preliminary exam was held. On 26^th November 2025, 50^th BCS Job Circular had been declared. On 4^th December 2025 was the initial date of 50^th BCS Job Circular application & on  31^st December 2025 was the ending date of application.

District wise absent candidates of 50^th BCS Preliminary Exam:

According to a press release of the BPSC (Bangladesh Public Service Commission), there were total 83,438 examinees stays behind absent from the 50^th BCS preliminary test, which was held on 30^th January (Friday) 2026 at 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM under 8 divisions,.

The BPSC said that 20.30 percent applicants didn’t appear in the preliminary test, the first stage of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination. It was maximum competitive examination of the country for the recruitment to various BCS cadres.

A total of 4, 10,963 candidates registered themselves to sit for the 50^th BCS exam while some 3, 27,525 candidates participated in the exam, said the BPSC press release. This is the new record in terms of candidates’ absence in the recent history of BCS preliminary exam.

Syllabus in Details:

Time will fixed for every subject consisting 200 marks. Time duration will 4 hours. In case of subject consisting 100 marks, time limit will 3 hours.
